The Ankara Metropolitan Municipality has identified the need to develop environmental protection measures for wastewater pollution that directly affects the health of the people of Ankara and the environment.
Before the 1980s, the growing and rapidly growing population of Ankara’s wastewater could not be purified and the dirty waters of the city were left directly to the rivers… Public health, agricultural areas and ecological balance were under great threat and this situation was a view that was unbecoming to the capital of our developing country. .
In order to provide a radical solution to the city’s wastewater problem, the authorities acted and pushed the button for the establishment and operation of a purification plant that would enable the purification of domestic and industrial wastewater. On 28.11.1988, the company BELKA Inc. was officially established to undertake this vital business.
BELKA Inc., which has renewed its service structure in order to meet the differentiating needs of Ankara, which has grown at an even greater speed in time, has started to operate in many fields other than its establishment purpose.

ASKI conducted the Ankara Metropolitan Wastewater Pollution Feasibility Study on domestic and industrial wastewater in 1988. It has officially established BELKA AS on 28.11.1988 in order to establish and operate the facility within the solution of the problem.
The contract with the Turkish-German Consortium was signed in 1992 after the project phase and tender announcement.
At the end of the five-year construction period of the Central Waste Water Purification Plant, the facility was put into operation.
The plant was commissioned by the consortium between August 1997 and February 1998. At that time, 150 employees were employed at BELKA AS.
As of February 1, 1999, BELKA AS has been fully operational and started to serve Ankara as a company.
After the purification plant operation which Belka AS has successfully continued until 2005, the capacity of the company has been increased and in addition to this work, it has started to operate in the areas of road, water, canal and landscaping works within the adjacent areas of Ankara.
BELKA AS increased the number of people employed to 1757. In addition, it has started to rapidly increase the number of equipment and vehicles.
With its expanding staff, increasing equipment and number of vehicles, BELKA AS has continued to be one of the leading companies in Ankara.
The Company’s capital has reached 55.500.000 TL. New breakthroughs were made by expanding the vehicle and construction equipment park.
BELKA AS increased its capital from 75.500.000 TL to 270.500.000 TL. The Company expanded its vehicle and construction equipment park and launched its new projects in full swing.
BELKA AS, which has a great share in providing the necessary labor force, machinery and vehicle supply in all services provided by Ankara Metropolitan Municipality and ASKI General Directorate to the people of Ankara, now has a new vision and mission with its energy and social responsibility projects.
